Degreed co-founders David Blake and Eric Sharp have launched a new startup that they position as “upskilling on demand.” It also involves joining sabbaticals with learning. It also attempts to positions a training sabbatical as a replacement for a layoff or furlough of an employee. Seem like three different ideas? It does to us, too. We have so many questions. Anyone we’ve ever met that earned their way (with tenure) to a sabbatical, at one of those rare and mythical companies that provide them, enjoyed getting paid to invest that time into themselves.
We’ve yet to have a briefing on Learn In, but given the founders’ track record with Degreed, we’re keeping an open mind.
