Most businesses have a large number of employees that aren’t tethered to a desk, whether that means they are on the shop floor, “on-property,” working remotely, or “in the field.” Communicating with and engaging this “diskless” workforce has always been a challenge. The global COVID-19 crisis, having forced a large percentage of the global workforce into distributed and remote work models has underscored that challenge.

UK-based Blink is the latest HR technology to focus on communication and collaboration for the deskless workforce, announcing a USD $9.1 Million funding round. Blink joins a growing category of HR technology focused on the deskless workforce including Beekeeper and Workstream.
