HowNow joins the recent onslaught of “skills-based” apps that are designed to identify an organizations skills gaps in its workforce while also identifying a skills path for individual employees, normally via some combinations of learning, mentoring, content sharing, etc. Leveraging all of the buzzwords – machine learning, artificial intelligence, and semantic search/matching… Myriad startups have entered the fray to help organizations upskill their teams, and all of the incumbent talent management focused vendors have been implementing the same features.
HowNow looks to be moving from a consumer-facing/solopreneur learning play into HR tech. Our guess is that this space is more crowded than they (and possibly their investors) accounted for.
